Omar Group has expanded their production facility in Hull with a move to a new site located at Unicorn Trading Park. Alongside this expansion Omar is delighted to announce the promotion of Peter Williams to Director of Production (Hull).
Following 24% year-on year sales growth, the expansion at Hull continues Omar Group’s ambitious growth strategy. The 7-acre site at Unicorn Trading Park comprises of 122,000 ft square manufacturing space and is over three times the size of the previous facility. This move will see Omar Group increase its overall manufacturing capacity (for its head office and main production facility in Brandon, Suffolk and the new site in Hull), by 65% and will enable gains in efficiency. Located within 1 mile of the former Valletta Street facility, all existing staff transferred to the new premises when production commenced earlier this month.
Peter Williams, who joined the company as Hull Factory Manager in December 2015, has proven exceptional team oriented leadership skills, taking the startup Hull factory from early beginnings into a successful manufacturing plant. Peter has been an integral part of the team involved in bringing the new production facility on-line working closely alongside Group Operations Director, Roy Greenacre, and very much deserves this promotion. In his new role, Peter will be involved in the planning, coordination and control of manufacturing processes including the recruitment of 120 new positions which will be created at the new factory in due course.
Dean Westmoreland, Chief Executive & Chairman commented: “It’s exciting times for Omar Group. The new, significantly expanded Hull facility will enable us to meet burgeoning demand for our high quality, fully residential park homes and luxury lodges. Throughout the Hull expansion project Peter has worked tirelessly, overseeing a major capital project which saw us produce our first home at the new facility earlier this month. Peter’s dedication and commitment throughout this process has been invaluable, so I’m delighted to give Peter the opportunity of managing the Hull facility in its entirety, in the role of Director of Production (Hull)."
Dean continues: “Peter will oversee manufacturing growth in Hull and help us to create 120 new job opportunities within the local community. I’m really pleased for Peter, he’s a great guy; he and the team in Hull take real pride in what they do and I’m proud to work along side them.”
Peter Williams, Director of Production (Hull) commented: “I feel privileged to be given the opportunity of managing the new Hull factory in the position of Director of Production. The larger facility will give us that much needed space for future growth and development projects. Omar has exciting times ahead and I’m extremely proud to be a part of it”.
